CDL (City Developments Limited) was set up in the year 1963, 7 September at a humble rented place on Orchard Road in Amber Mansions. CDL main business objective was to develop, acquire and sell properties.
CDL built its first development in the year 1965 in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Its maiden project was 200 units of landed properties, consisting of bungalow, semi-detached and terrace. City Towers at Bukit Timah Road was CDL first development in Singapore in the year 1966.
Hong Leong Group came on board in the year 1969 and put in fresh funds to help with CDL’s cash flow. 3 years later in 1972, CDL has become a profitable company. CDL is in the real estate sector for more than 5 decades and it notably developed many well-known iconic developments, from residential, hotels and shopping malls.
TID Residential Pte Ltd is jointly incorporated between Mitsui Fudosan (Japan’s biggest developer) and Hong Leong Group. The group is known to build luxurious development like The Oceanfront @ Sentosa, The St. Regis and Optima @ Tanah Merah.
Quality assurance is presented in CDL’s development. The company has clinched the most awarded private property developer at the BCA (Building and Construction Authority) with 30 honour award.
CDL has in total did nine EC projects including Piermont Grand. This Sumang EC has excited the group due to its huge land size and the unique scenic water views have driven the architect to have most of the units to face towards My Waterway at Punggol and Punggol Reservoir.
